Teacher Grants

Need some support for your classroom practice? 

OCTE offers grants (annually) to assist teachers in the classroom. Grants of $150 - $300 are available to develop curriculum, purchase materials, or for other uses that enhance instruction in language arts/literacy, with a focus on social justice.

Grant applications accepted June 1 - September 30

Recipient decisions made by October 15

A list of grant winners will be published in the Chalkboard Newsletter and online. 


Criteria:

The following criteria will be used to determine grant winners

  • Must be an OCTE member. Join here https://www.octe.org/Membership
  • The clarity and completeness of the proposal
  • The extent of the project’s impact
  • The project's cultural relevance and value in promoting literacy
  • The use of effective literacy practices

Winners will be asked to:

  • ·Submit receipts for reimbursement.
  •  Present completed grant project at an OCTE conference or write an article  to be shared in the OCTE Chalkboard Newsletter and on social media.
